Dad hit a kangaroo on the way home. The roo was a big male, about 7 feet tall. Mum and Dad are lucky the animal bounced right over the top and didn't come through the windscreen.

They're okay, but the ute and the kangaroo are totalled.

Well, bugger. But the company needed a new truck anyway. Now the accountant will let us buy it.

You've stated you don't feel animals are inferior to us. Since you've stated you'd rather have a human die than an animal, that leads me to believe you feel humans are inferior to animals in some respect, thus warranting our extermination rather than theirs.

As others have alluded to, this level of misanthropy is not consistent with your continued existence, so I am led to believe your position is a mere pose designed to provoke ire, a tactic commonly referred to as "stirring in shit."

oh I have lost loved ones, close to me, and yet people like you and the rest continue to procreate, and destroy the world, let me guess most of you drive a hummer or some other gas guzzling vehicle. I do more to help the animals of this world, and I have told those lazy bastards I see panhandling at stop signs to take a flying leap off of a tall building. I've seen what you people consider fair in this world, and your way of living has caused places like Love Field, Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, and other man made toxic zones around the world. I consider it unfair to bring a human life into this world, while people like you can only drink beer, watch sports, and breed like some sort of disease.

I don;t care if his folks lived or died, and for the record I have felt empty inside since I accidentally killed a little fawn, and I've hated myself since for doing it, yet I keep going to help animals, since none of you will, if any of you claim to be of a Furry nature, then you all are the biggest bunch of hypocrites.

oh, and you all best look up what a sociopath is before you go slinging big words around.

Okay.

Over the years I have hit kangaroos, wallabies, possums, snakes, lizards, bats and any number of birds. Instead of feeling empty and hating myself and society, I felt sad that I couldn't prevent that animal from being killed.

I belong to WIRES (http://www.wires.org.au/) and have rescued and rehabbed more birds and animals than I can remember. Animals and brids that can't be rehabbed I euthanase. I do it myself - by hand. I hate it and it makes me feel crappy but it has to be done, because that death is faster and preferable to the one nature had intended.

I am a conservationist and environmentalist and I would love to see the world's human population stop growing. I would also love to see every feral cat, dog, fox, rabbit, pig, goat, horse, donkey, starling, mynah, pigeon and cane toad EXTERMINATED from the face of this continent.

The car I drive is a 2-wheel drive sedan that gets 40mpg. The truck in the photo is also 2 wheel drive, and is full of tools and equipment. We don't take kids to soccer in it; we use it to build pollution control systems.

I lke anthropomorphic animals, comics, cartoons, books. I have more Bat-related items around my home than would be considered normal. I write furry stories, and dragon stories. I am a Furry. I also like beer.

This is also my journal. I don't like anti-human sentiment. It is one aspect of Furries and Otherkin that really gives me the shits.

Oh, yes, "the rest of you," the great, nebulous enemy that you can have to make you feel good about yourself. You know nothing about me, and you can't blame me for the actions of my forefathers or the actions of those around the world from me. It's nice that you've managed to formulate this image of me that is almost completely antipodal to what I actually am. (Though I do drink beer, but not pisswater.)

Now, on to the sociopathy. I know what a sociopath is, and you certainly woul;d get a higher than average score on the PCL-R test if I go by my brief interaction with you.

Lessee ... Grandiose sense of self-worth. I'll give you a 2, since you think that you're the only person who has some right to live. Lack of remorse or guilt -- I'll give you a 2, because, frankly, you're a ginormous asshole here who doesn't care about Den. Practically a textbook definition. Shallow affect? Yep. I'll give you a 1. Callousness and lack of empathy? Pft. 2. Parasitic lifestyle? Hrm. Well, you are 34 and wanting to work at Wal-mart 'cause it'd evidently be a step up...but I, unlike you, understand how that could happen to anyone. No score. Poor behavioral control? Certainly, but I can't say to what degree, so I'll give you a 1. Promiscuous behavior? I could be a dick and use your membership to a poly community against you, but I won't, and know nothing else. No score. Lack of realistic, long-term goals? 2. You want to work at Wal-Mart 'cause it'll be a step up. Impusivity ... well, we're at the point we're at. You get a 1 automatically. Failure to accept responsibility for your own actions? I'll give a 1 because of your hypocritical nature, and I'll explain -that- later. I've left out ones I simply can't judge on. You've scored 12 out of 40, which, while not a textbook sociopath, is more than double the score of the average population.

I do not have a grandiose sense of self worth, so strike 1.
I do not have the right yto live more than anyone else, so that's strike 2
I do have a guilt and remorse, so that's strike 3
I've applauded Den for his efforts in protecting the animals in Australia, so I am not shallow.
I am not callous and non empathetic, so you're just good at giving blame yet can't take it.
I am enrolled in College so I need a job that will help pay the bills, and in case you've not noticed alot of people are worin fields they didn't plan on thanks to Bush. I know Network Admins who are now having to work at a wal-mart and deliver pizza to barely make ends meet.
my long term goals are to get a degree in paleontology, and maybe astronomy, so I do have realistic goals.
I do accept responsibility for my actions, if I make a mistake, I admit it and accept the blame, but I do get pissed if I am right and I am not given the acknowledgement.

so let's see, you like to think you're better than yourself, by trying to say your lifestyle is better, and deriding those who's lifestyle isn't like yours, hmmm, sounds familiar, sounds like something a certain person named Hitler used to use.

*laughs* Aww, he invoked Godwin's Law. Isn't that cute?

I think far more people will agree with my assessment than wouldn't -- but then, you can't have the psychos -- or socipaths -- diagnosing themselves, can you?

I don't think I'm better than myself, if that's what you meant. I recognize my failings. Unlike you. You feel you're worth more than everyone else, whilst not contributing much to society. You evidently do feel you have more of a right to live than anyone else, or else you'd've followed up your convictions with a suicide. You do not have guilt and remorse, or else you'd've apologized to Den. You are shallow, because you're utterly incapable of truly empathizing with anyone who you consider to be lower than you are -- which is pretty much everyone. Being in college is irrelevant; at your age, if you had any useful skills and a will to exploit them, you could certainly do better than a soul-killing, low-wage, worse-than-no-benefits job at a corporation which epitomizes everything I would think you hate. Your long-term goals ... well, with someone who claims to have such empathy for animals and ecology, I'd kind of expect something that would actually help change the world for the better. Good for you, though. And you certainly haven't acknowledged what an utter bastard you were a few posts back.

I only deride those whose lifestyle isn't like mine when mine -is- better, and, frankly, my lifestyle is likely much the same as yours -- except I'm not a psychological plague and a social black hole.

And, again, if you think that you don't have any more right to live than everyone else, and that all humans should die, why don't you follow that little logical train off its cliff?

A greek philosopher said that men who live without other men are gods or demons. I'll go with the latter option, here.

Now, let's talk on hypocrisy. Your way of living has caused places like Love Field, Three Mile Island, and Chernobyl, too. You drive a car, which creates vast amounts of toxic waste and pollution in its operation, maintenance, creation, and disposal. You are using a computer -- same thing. You're using electricity, and I presume that you're not off the grid. Ditto. You buy synthetic-based fiber and rubber-substitutes, thus maintaining demand for petrochemicals and creating yet more toxic waste. You're currently using the internet, a derivation of a military system created to keep defense networks connected in the event of nuclear war. You buy products from massive, multinational corporations which have done more for the destruction of the biosphere and the oppression of mankind than any other force in the past two hundred years. You buy non-locally grown vegetables, fruit, and grain products, thus perpetuating the use of petrochemical pesticides, big farm-destroying corporations, and the expenditure of vast amounts of energy to deliver that stuff to your door. You support japanese animation, and thus, Japan, in spite of their record of having annual, massive dolphin slaughters. You work at a big-box pet store, and what they do to perpetuate animal cruelty from their mere existance I won't even get into; you should know it already.

Hypocrite? You best look up what it is before you go slinging big words around.

You're callous, lacking empathy, and have utter disdain for your fellow man. You spread misery, and are proud of it. You, frankly, are a psychic and social blight upon the world, an utter waste of the massive amount of resources it takes to support your existance, a human disease. You're a pitiful husk of a person, hating everyone around you, believing them deserving of death. You absolve yourself of responsibility for what's happening in the world around you whilst laying it at the feet of everyone else. And you think you're not a sociopath? Heh.

Oh, and I hate televised sports.

oh, if you want to take this personally, seems you quit college because you have no focus and you can'y seem to stick to any goals, as you so eloquently put it on your info, and you're so paranoid, you're afriad to have your email address listed in your info.

I will say this I do grow my own vegetables, and we do use less electrivity than you, and my car is tuned and tweaked to use as little gas and it's on the books to be modified to run on alternative sources as soon as it's paid for.
and yes I like anime, but most of the animators are for stopping the slaughter of dolphins and whales.

when you can grow up, and keep your mind focused on the here and now, and maybe get a job instead of being a bum and spending your time playing games.

Close to the mark, but not quite right. I quit college because I had no focus and couldn't stick to goals. That has changed significantly over the past several years, and I gained my AA with high marks. The only reasons I haven't gone on to get a BA and Masters in Photography, yet, are purely economic. The sole reason that I don't have my email address listed in my info is because I get enough goddamned spam as it is. Other contact methods -are- listed.

I grow my own vegetables, I don't use more electricity than I need to, and, as soon as possible, I'm planning on getting a new, more-efficient car, possibly a hybrid, bio-diesel conversion, or one of unitednuclear's nifty hydrogen-fuel conversion/generation kits. And whether the animators like it or not, you're still supporting their economy.

And I have a job, again. I was unemployed for approximately three weeks, and have been on civil-service rolls in an attempt to get an actual career job, in addition to trying to sell myself to any photographers who I've been made aware of who need an assistant. And if Your 'bum' comment is rather unsupported, seeing as I pay for rent, food, partial utilities, a car, etc, etc, etc.

I'll also note here that you still have to account for your list of ecological sins, since you feel so strongly about them.

See, the last sentance is the funniest, here. I'm not done growing up -- in fact, I'm just barely out of adolescence. As I have become a man, I have learned from my mistakes, become more responsible, more focussed, and generally a better person. I'm improving myself every day as time goes on.

At your age, what's your excuse?

you know what, I do alot of good, and my time is spent helping various groups that help animals, and the enviorment, and I am damn proud that I am doing more good for the enviorment, and your petty attitude is now just as annoying as is a spoiled brat.
