For some bizarre reason, it was playing in the NOC where I work (yes, it was broadcast on SBS), on the big screens that (sometimes) have network monitors displayed. I guess it was the only sport on.

Just think, these are your tax dollars hard at work ;-)

Have you looked at http://www.psgazetteonline.gov.au/ws/PSEOSearch.asp ? If you are looking for an APS job, this is THE place to look. If you're specifically looking for a defence.gov.au job, then take a look at http://www.defence.gov.au/dcr/ although there doesn't seem to be much around at the moment.

And it seems to me that in the APS, experience counts a lot more than qualifications, as long as you meet the selection criteria.

By the way, a security clearance is a pain in the arse to get :-/
