House!

The lounge room with its slow combustion wood heater and bar. The house has a reverse cycle split system in this room, so it's unlikely we'll need to like the fire often. There is also a swamp cooler on the roofwith ducting to all rooms

Purple and Orange room! It's mostly white-ish now. Sorry Ace. Pete says he'll take this room as his. I seem to have acquired the main bedroom. The pink room is also mostly white-ish.

The back yard

Garden shed and dog kennel

One of the aviaries left behind

The fish pond and fish left behind

And something else left behind.

I think I'll deny the existence of the rabbit, and when visitors say "You have a rabbit!" I'll say "What rabbit?"

Date: 3 Mar 2009 16:21 (UTC)Oh! We have bats now! I need to build a bat box ASAP so they'll stay.
And an oddball question (actually two): do you like cast iron cooking things and do you have a Wal-Mart nearby? Fox insists they have them in Australia but I've never heard any of my Australian friends mention them.

Also, plant some night-flowering plants in the garden. they attect insects which attract bats. Bats in North America need a lot of help at the moment; a desease is sweeping through the colonies on the East Coast with a 90% mortality. It's pretty dire.
Cast Iron Cooking things: love them! Wal-mart: there may be a few stores in Sydney or Melbourne, but they're not known generally. I haven't seen a store anywhere in country areas of the state. We have Big W (a Woolworths non-food division) Mitre 10 and Bunnings for all our cheap things needs.

I'll bet the bats would come; it's almost like they're looking for a place to be. We have a big colony on the University of Florida campus but these are local guys.
I have night blooming jasmine, moonflowers, and who knows what else out there. I scatter the wildflower packets to let them bloom where they may.
