House!

New House

The lounge room with its slow combustion wood heater and bar. The house has a reverse cycle split system in this room, so it's unlikely we'll need to like the fire often. There is also a swamp cooler on the roofwith ducting to all rooms

Rabbit
I think I'll deny the existence of the rabbit, and when visitors say "You have a rabbit!" I'll say "What rabbit?"

It's looking pretty spiff. Are you going to make any changes other than adding furniture?

Date: 28 Feb 2009 05:03 (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dewhitton.livejournal.com
It needs a good paint job inside. All the rooms are different shades on the walls, or one shade on walls, ceiling and trimmings. The large back room (not photographed) need an awning on the west wall and windows to keep the sun off.

Aren't rabbits pestiferous creatures down there?

I'm frankly amazed that that they can live in the wilds of Oz. Y'all are prolly naturally selecting some kind of super rabbit that will kill us all.

hahaha excellent idea!

Your house is beautiful! I especially love archways in the front room and the extension of the kitchen counter that makes a bar/table/workspace. I love kitchens were you can get to a counter from multiple sides :)

Congratulations again! :D

Lovely home! I especially like the landscaping in the back yard, but I agree...the pink and orange has GOT to go!

GONE! I spent all morning with paint and a roller. The back yard landscaping is mostly natives, and has a drip watering system. It's rather good. I need to plant some bottle brushes to go with the wattle (the silvery grey bushes)

I'm highly jealous of your back yard dude. :-)

Is it traditional to have aviaries? Also do you have mosquito issues down there at the other end of the planet?

Oh wait! You said there were fish in that pond so that means no mosquitoes.

And I'm insane so I see a rabbit.

I've called the RSPCRooms. They are investigating.

Kitchen is good. It needs a fridge and microwave, and eventually a dish washer.

Congratulations on your new billabong! And a ready made aviary, too! You're about to enter a new phase of you life: home repairs, heehee. But as a homeowner, I think it's worth it. No more paying rent every month. Of course, now you have a mortgage, but that's better as you are actually getting something for your money. If I were there I'd crack a bottle of champagne for you! I'll give you a virtual toast from here, in any event!

Date: 28 Feb 2009 22:30 (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dewhitton.livejournal.com
My brother and I (we're going shares) each pay half the monthly mortgage, which works out to approx $200/week (and change), which is what a 1 bedroom flat rents for at the moment.

1 bedroom flat vs 3 bedroom house with back yard. Gee. I can't decide which I want more.
