Rescue Phones

Call#2: Black snake in the local brothel.

I called the snake handler and got his wife. She has offered to accompany him on the rescue.

"That's not neccessary," I said.
"Oh yes it is."

It's being that kind of day.

Blacks aren't poisonous, right? I thought those were only the browns... so what would they have to fear from one?

Oh yeah! Blacks are highly venomous but non-aggressive. You can hunt them away by spraying water on them, or stamping your feet.

Say WHAT? Those must be a lot different from the Black Snakes we got here in Missouri.

They are very timid! Everyone bitten by a black snake here, have either been trying to pick one up or were trying to kill one. They are venomous but not dangerous.

Still, you don't want one in your yard. You might tread on it.

The ones here just go after mice and such -- and I've been told so many time (even by conservation agents) that they aren't poisonous....must be a totally different sort.
