Bearded dragon showing off his injuries on the end of his nose and behind his eye.

Bearded Dragon

The zoovets pumped him full of antibiotics and held him for a few days. I have him here now for a few weeeks R&R befor I release him.

Dragon says "Bugger Off"

Bearded Dragon

Beardies are usually a mid-grey, but they can change colour to suit the environment. They can't change like a chameleon, but they can change from very dark grey to pale yellows. They change to either manage heat absorption or to hide. When I picked up my dragon he'd been in dead grass for some time.

Bearded Dragon

This is after 10 minutes in a box on newspaper.

He's a fine healthy fellow, and he's in a mood. Namely the male aggressive territorial posturing mood. Be careful he doesn't attack/bite you!

" He is lizard, hear him roar! In words too big too ignore...":D

He's already bite me. I was careless putting his food in, and next thing I knew I have a grumpy lizard on my thumb.

Awwww.

I think I like the dead grass look better than the newspaper look. Dragon fashions? *grin*

Injured or not he's a spectacularly beautiful 'izzard! I'm sure in your care he'll make a full recovery.

I got to "pet" a bearded lizard at the South Dakota Reptile Gardens. I'll be posting pictures eventually, but didn't get one of that dragon. Instead, I have one of his much bigger cousin. *Grins* I also passed up on playing with the Ball Python the lady had next to the little guy.

What impressed me most was that he was at once fairly soft, but really prickly.

Have the best

Handsome fellow!

My local vet has one in a nice large captive environment. He's always loads of fun to watch.

I've another friend who keeps them as pets. Hers are gorgeous too.

I'm allowed to keep one as a pet as long as I buy it from a registered breeder. It's illegal to keep a wild one, not to mention being unfair on the lizard.

They are all bred here (though it wouldn't surprise me to find that they could adapt to Florida).

I like lizards...from a distance. The ones around our house bite, and they don't like to let go once they do.

I got to hold one as well as some other little ones, and he was very passive but it was a cold rainy afternoon and he had bellied down in a puddle.
