A Google map of Dubbo, with my home at the tip of the arrow. This is the best resolution/size. We don't rate a high resoltion image.

It looks as if you have an awful lot of greenery in and around your place. Is it mostly small trees and grass?

My map shows a typical California subdivision (built in 1959) with almost no greenery except for grass and small trees:

That's the most detailed it gets. Zoomed a little further out, you can see the major freeways:

Obvious in this zoomed-out version is the American River. It's the American River on which gold was discovered in 1849 (giving the name "49'ers" to prospectors. All the gold made Califorina rich enough that it attained Statehood on the "fast track" in 1850. A curious bit of trivia? California began as a Republic (in fact, the flag says "California Republic" at the bottom, under the walking grizzly bear). Unlike Texas and Arizona, which furst went from Republic to Territory before becoming a State, we skipped the Territory part and went directly from Republic to State!

The greenery is farmland, and after 4 years of below average rain it's all brownery. That photo is about 8 years old judging by the lack of new estates.
