That question is addressed in the article. Despite it being easier to do, if we fixed global dimming first, global warming would kick our arses. So global warming effects must somehow be solved first. Or we can just let one continue to balance out the other and hope the side effects don't get too bad...

Be aware that the Horizon programme was quite sensational in some of its assertions. The article marmoe links to (below) is quite good.

I think at the moment we don't know enough, but Global Dimming presents an interesting* explanation as to why all the crap we pump into the atmosphere isn't having such a great effect.

*Interesting in the sense of the Chinese Curse.
