Yeah it's everywhere isn't it?

One of the unique sounds on a submarine (well a US boat anyways) is the 400 cycle power used in the verious syncro/servo systems on board (Sonar, Navigation gyro's &ct...) I'd imagine there's some of that in the radar systems you've worke don over the years too...

400 cycle power is more likely to be used on an aircraft than ground support equipment.

I do recall that about 20 years ago there was a half-hearted proposal to route 400 cycle low voltage power around the equipment rooms as an adjunct to the standardized -50V DC feeds.
