People give me funny looks when I squee over small quick-moving lizards. But they're cute! And squee-worthy!

These geckos are really noisy, too. They often woke with their calls.

Hmmm...

Need a few around here. Only things that make noise (and a LOT of it!) are frogs and toads...and BIRDS---and BUGS!!!!

Lizards are pretty quiet, though, at least around here...

Hmm! That's interesting; I've never actually lived near or with lizards, so don't have any idea how loud they might be. Is the name 'gecko' at all related to the noise they make? I have this vague sense that might be the case...

The lizards I'm most familiar with are _very_ small things which I believe are called "anoles", and are from Florida, USA. They were always very quiet when I was near enough to see them (and therefore identify any noises as theirs).

There aren't many easily seen non-snake reptiles where I live (north-east part of the United States). Sadly.
