Enough of that.

1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two.
2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS.
Have a gecko.

share the fluffy cuddlyness.

and apparently I felt that you needed to know this!

Date: 6 Nov 2004 19:26 (UTC)Need a few around here. Only things that make noise (and a LOT of it!) are frogs and toads...and BIRDS---and BUGS!!!!
Lizards are pretty quiet, though, at least around here...

Date: 8 Nov 2004 09:23 (UTC)The lizards I'm most familiar with are _very_ small things which I believe are called "anoles", and are from Florida, USA. They were always very quiet when I was near enough to see them (and therefore identify any noises as theirs).
There aren't many easily seen non-snake reptiles where I live (north-east part of the United States). Sadly.

Date: 6 Nov 2004 19:37 (UTC)Love is Love by Sir Edwin Dyer
The lowest trees have tops, tha ant her gall,
The fly her spleen, the little sparks their heat;
The slender hairs cast shadows, though but small,
And bees have stings, although they be not great;
Seas have their source, and so have shallow springs,
And love is love, in beggars as in kings.
Where rivers smoothest run, deep are the fords;
The sundial stirs, yet none perceive it move;
The firmest faith is in the fewest words.
The turtles* cannot sing, and yet they love.
True hearts have eyes and ears, no tongues to speak;
They see, they hear, they sigh, and then they break.
*Looked it up, he meant doves ("turtledoves") which were, according to the folklore of the time, the most faithful lovers in the animal kingdom. Oh, by the way, the poem is from memory so my version might not be exactly correct.
