Moon Landing full screen panorama





I noticed the dust around the astronaut's head is reflecting back to the camera. (arrows, below) It's reflecting light the same way reflective road paint does.



isn't that interesting?

It's a lovely shot of the dry Heiligenschein effect - again, I recommend a trip to sundog.clara.co.uk - actually, here's the link to the dew heiligenschein: http://www.sundog.clara.co.uk/droplets/heilig.htm - it's a neat effect to watch out for on a dewy morning.

Alas, Sundog doesn't cover the dry heiligenschein. You can also see it from aircraft when at low altitude - it appears as a vertical streak around the shadow of the plane, and is called the heligenschein streak.

Wow, just googled a bit and found out about the gegenschein - http://www.weather-photography.com/Techniques/gegenschein.php - neat!
