Re: cock-ees? Oh, "cookies!"
Date: 27 May 2004 01:55 (UTC)Tim Tams (and Violet Crumble and Cherry Ripe) are available from a few mail-order places in the USA. Have a look at Everything Australian in Little Rock, Arkansas, Australian Products in Santa Clara, CA, and Agape Outback Unlimited in Leavenworth, WA. (Caution: The Agape web site drives my copy of Mozilla crazy).
In 2001, Arnotts did a trial marketing of Tim Tams in 400 stores in California with Tim Tams marketed with the name "Double Trouble". There was no advertising, and they were relying on word of mouth to spread the news. AFAIK, the project was abandoned.
About 10 years ago, I noticed cartons of Violet Crumble bars in a Bay Area Trader Joe's. I haven't seen them in any Trader Joe's store since.
