On Saturday afternoon I got a headache. Not your normal take-2-asprin headache. This was a persistant back of the head, to the left of the neck pain that made it hard to do anything that required more thinking than watching telly. Dr Phil needs a large foam cricket bat so he can beat people on the sides of their head and say "Wake up to yourself!" Channel 10 has replaced Springer with repeats of Mysterious Ways. Which is nice. Sunday and Monday were dead-losses. Lying on the bed in a dark room helped more than asprins did.

I woke this morning to discover that it has almost gone, leaving my brain feeling buised and washed out. The PC is too loud so I have ear-plugs in, but I might actually start writing journal entries again.

The only think I could eat was vegemite on toast, or Mylanta.

I always feel 'hung over' after a migraine, head all fulla cotton wool, not all synapses firing (and no wonder considering I've spent two days with my brain short circuited), I have to be very careful at those times.... I have a tendancy to walk into things, trip over stuff, cut myself if I'm chopping vegetables...

Fortunately that part doesn't seem to last more than a day

Migraines are no fun!

Maybe your headache and my pterodactyls of doom can go away on a vacation somewhere?

Also a cold compress made from an ice bag or a hot water bottle stuffed with ice and wrapped in a plastic bag and towel can help. Not always, but it works for me. The problem is getting it against the right bit and keeping the rest of you comfy.

I have done the noise is pain thing. And a dark room is important.

Need a bottle or three of Lucozade?:)

It's not so much a migrane as a cluster headache, but not a really bad one. Some things trigger them, but they're usually over after a few hours. This is the first to go more than 1 day. Often I'm sick enough to throw up but not this time. It was just a dull, persistant ache. Right now it's not hurting but I feel blagh.

Maybe this will help you feel better. I found a bat yesterday in a lonely abandoned lighthouse.

Check out my journal.

It could be caffeine withdrawal which can be cured by the consumption of coffee. I have suffered similar effects and traced it to caffeine withdrawal. It may not be caffeine but if you change the normal consumption of some substance it can have a similar effect.
