Just don't get too hopeful about the sheathtailed bat. I looked at her wings again.

At first I thought the bone-ends I could see were the remains of the missing ends, but they're actually part of the bone that makes up the main wing support bone. Imagin a plane's leading edge and associated structures of a wing. That's the bones I can see exposed to the air.

Ouch. It's hard to imagine, from that, that the I-bat will ever fly again.

You have obviously gained much experience here; any chance of dermal tissue growing around and enclosing the exposed area?
