I can't stand tinned beetroot. I hate the sugary, vinagary taste that drowns out the beetroot.

I love home-cooked beetroot, especially when it's hot.

All right, all right -- I'm glad you've got something you love so much. It's just that some of the things on my list have gotten a bad reputation, that's all! *grins*

At least you don't live in america, which is home to the burnt weenie sandwich!!:D

I'm fond of peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwiches myself:).

Ever had borscht with good fresh beet roots? It's a Polish dish. You simmer the beets in water with salt, pepper, and onions (including the green tops at the last minute --- enough to cook them but not to wilt). When it cools but is still warm, you mix in sour cream and chill the soup. It's served cold with crackers and sharp cheese --- very good and it really brings out the flavor.

Can you at least scan it????

My reaction was Ewww...

Pity it's hard to get good cooked beetroot in the States. I might have to kill a weekend and cook some myself. I've never been one to turn my nose up at something until after I've tried it.

I don't like corned beef, but swap that for bacon and I'm there. I love beetroot. But I like the stuff in a jar. Never tried it home-cooked.

I've had beetroot on a burger at Mickey D's in...I think it was Noosa Heads. I liked it. I haven't had it since then, since I don't do McDonald's anymore -- but I have occasionally had it on turkey burgers and boca burgers. I also like pineapple on burgers even more. Yummy!
