Never show on a newsgroup the bits of your past that you find painful.

During a discussion on Eating Dog Meat Leads To Cannibalism, I argued that it didn't follow. I shot some farm dogs, so does it mean I will now feel comfortable killing my family?

I wish I'd kept out of the argument. Now a waste of oxygen has labled me an admitted dog murderer. I said things to him I don't regret saying, but they should have been kept off a.l.f.

I think it's time I kept off a.l.f. too, for a while. Not a day goes by without me feeling increasingly alienated there.

I remember that day on the farm so well. Every time I see a working sheepdog I remember it again.

Thank you.. that explains why the somewhat over reaction to battys post.

I was talking about the same thing to a friend of mine, the afternoon before I saw battys post, and he was somewhat horrified about people eating cats/dogs/rabbits etc etc, but at least he didnt go postal at me for it

Nice to know that he was able to discuss it with you without going postal. I think that people overall, once they get to know you and how you post (even better if they've met you in furson) get comfortable being able to discuss things without "Going postal". The current crop of ALF posters are starting to get that way: comfy with how everybody else posts. You'll always see posts from furs with "Strong Voices" -- strong opinions -- so you know about what to expect from that fur when he/she posts. I think it makes for more interesting reading sometimes, and even makes me think.

Oh I agree, having different opinions and being able to state them without slipping over the line makes for a very interesting conversation.

Much better than everyone agreeing all the time.

True! As long as it isn't stepping over the line; it does give a lot of good information for others reading the thread to keep informed, or at the very least, to go read up on the information being posted so you CAN keep properly informed.

Something I miss from when I started posting on ALF...
