"For a century and a half now, America and Japan have formed one of the great and enduring alliances of modern times."

hey, what are a couple of atomic weapons laying waste to civilization between friends?

I hate my president. he was bad enough as my idiot state governor. now he gets to embarrass the entire country in front of the world.

I had to shake my head and wonder about the twonk "you lot" voted in. What can you say to a comment like that? Anything you could possibly think of("It's wrong!" "That's not right!" "You're an idiot") would be like saying "The sun is hot."

I'm glad I live here, even with the fucking conservative government.

He didn't win. By any count, he did not win the election. He was appointed by the Supreme Court - one of which is married to a woman appointed to his cabinet, another of whom is the father of one of the lawyers who represented him in the election case. Neither of these judges considered themselves biased enough to abstain from helping put the asshole idiot bastard W. in office.

We didn't vote him into office - he fucking well took it.

... can you tell I've been reading that Michael Moore book? :P

hey the previous twonk had just as many embarassing statements.
[shrug] they're all the same, they just take their money from different people for different favours.
none of them have the interests of the actual people in mind.

So President Bush (I), in a great show of respect for his Japanese counterpart, vomits into the Japanese Prime Minister's lap. His son, President Bush (II), calls our 150-year involvement in Japan to be a "great and enduring alliance", neglecting that it was started 149 years ago by our steaming 4 gunships into their major port, was punctuated by war against each other, and included us removing the divinity of their Emperor. Lovely.

Over the years I have seen the US people vote in the corrupt, complete idiots, the power hungry, war mongers and the morally destitute.

Congrats, you've outdone yourselves.. you found all five rolled up into one with a smattering of arrogant, ungrateful asshole on top.

You know, the problem is that things have Gone Wrong with the system, and the people who care simply don't know how to fix it.
We try voting, but so many of us are so embittered about our choices (see "system-Gone Wrong") that we've more or less given up.
We vote now for the lesser of two evils, and sometimes, we lose.

The *minority* of people in this country who are "corrupt, complete idiots, the power hungry, war mongers...morally destitute" and "arrogant, ungrateful asshole[s]" are the ones responsible for putting their kind in office.
The *majority* of people in this country are good people for whom their government does not truly speak. IME, IMO, etc.

Yes, if I understand the process that took place properly, he did not win the election by a majority vote. That's a huge flaw in the election process down there. Something that needs to be fixed in a big way.

I'm rather hoping I hear cries of impeachment before too long. He's destroying the crediblity and honour of your country and creating an image that will stick in peoples minds for the decades it takes to repair his handywork and probably long after.

He's not my president, I didn't vote for him!

Sounds like the hired one of Ronniea former writers for that one. Dubya also forgot about the Japanese Internment Camps in this country.Someone should mail him a copy of farewell to Manzanar. With our luck, he'll probably pass it off as fiction!
