denLabelled as "Spitfire - The Bottle Of Britain" brewed to celebrate the Battle Of Britain in the skies over Kent.
There was a faint hiss of gas as the lid came off. The beer pours a clear dark amber with a creamy tan head that fades away very slowly.
First sip: Very mild malt, slight tang of fizz on the tongue, with a mid-strength hops that lingers for ages. A nice full mouth feel with a crispy dryness afterwards. The hops does dominate everything. Nice beery burp, though.
Like most English beers and ales, this one tastes better when it gets above refrigerated temperatures. Spitfire is a nice Pale Ale - one for sipping slowly in the shade on a hot day as you read a good book and wait for fish or marinaded chickens to finish smoking in the Weber.
Cheese! A strong vintage cheese really works with this beer.
