Like most Americans, each year I find our Memorial day holiday thoughtlessly filled up with camping trips or other unrelated events like any other bank holiday. Thank you for posting these, as one of those well-meaning forgetful sorts.
I hope this summer to make the trip out to Arlington national cemetery where we bury our most famous and finest and visit a WW2 vet I was very honoured to meet once before he died, and before I married his grandson. So few left to march here, too. I don't even remember there being any of his buddies left at the funeral.
