Alas, your Woolworth's is connected to the now-defunct chain of quaint stores in the US in name only. I looked it up. Seems the namesake stores in Australia and New Zealand appropriated the name when our stores were very hot in this country, as well as in the UK and various European countries. I'm still happy for your gluten-free find, though.

The fact that there in no company connection meant our Woolies weren't killed when the UK Woolworths went under. Which is good. Woolworths here grew so big they had to split in to food stores - "Woolworths" - and everything else stores - "Big W." They are still one of the largest food stores in Aus.

Peppercorn meats at Woolies is divine! Gluten free...google Peppercorn meats to see what takes your fancy...Some regional Woolies don't stock them but they have them in Melbourne Sydney and Wagga Woolworths supermarkets so maybe Dubbo?

I'd like to know what they're like... You're lucky that you have many gluten-free options down there; it's harder to get gf in the US.
