I will be seriously considering migrating to DreamWidth if Live Journal become untenable. I will keep the journal here (I have a permanent account) but I don't know what our new Russian masters have in store for the anglophone minority that make up this site.

DreamWidth looks very interesting.

Those "friends" are add-bots. Report them to LJ_Abuse to get them banned. See here (http://nympholept.livejournal.com/tag/russian+bots) for lots of info.
