Occupational Health And Safety Public Service Announcement.

Don't park there.

Test done at Kalgoorlie using an empty dumper. Imagine the effect if the truck was loaded with 100 tons of ore.

Ah, so I see that stupidity behind the wheel is not limited to our continent?

This was actually a safety demonstration to show what happens if you park in the wrong places on mines. The pickup was a decommissioned mine vehicle.

Oh, I caught on to that. But it's like the warning on Preparation-H, "not to be taken orally." You know that means that somewhere, someone has sued the company because they took their hemmorhoid cream by mouth.

and I'm pretty sure that dumper with a 100 tons of ore could probably do quite a number on said big trucks!

Not quite on the same scale, but are you familiar with the Killdozer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_Heemeyer)?

Wow. It didn't even SLOW DOWN.

And I guess my old Tonka trucks really were in scale with my Matchbox cars...

And that was an empty dumper, too. A loaded truck wouldn't even feel the pickup under the tyres.

Jaysus. You guys have trucks the size of houses, lorries the length of trains and trains 3 miles long. Is your country overcompensating for something?

Oh yeah! Euclid, Caterpillar, Haulpak and LeTorneau are all US companies. You guys have some of the biggest trucks in the world.

Come take a tour in colorado at the Cripple Crek and Victor Gold Mining company. You'll see those trucks and a lot of other huge pieces of equipment.

Loaded or empty, that poor pickup couldn't have gotten any flatter. Yarg! You'd have to extract any occupants with a dental suction tube...

I could get off on driving one of those babies.

That has to be the biggest vehicle I've ever seen!
