So a truck load of stuff arrived for the company. It wasn't interesting, but also on the truck was this:

Helecopter! With gas turbine engine!

But: rudder and tail plane but no tail rotor... no gearbox to main rotor...

AUTOGYRO!

A GAS TURBINE AUTOGYRO!

No wait... it might be even more interesting!

It's going to Forbes to be restored, and it needs a lot of that. Still...

Looks definately Mad Max-ish. What's the pricetag on that thing?

$11,000 as it is now.

I hope it doesn't end up on a stick.

It's more likely to end up on Ebay.

I'm not supposed to think what I'm thinking... namely, when, and does it have a reserve, and if not can I hack the auction to prevent bids other than mine registering...

I dunno what I'd do with it, but it'd be something awesome!

What the heck is your company going to do with a 'copter?

No. It's a town near Parkes.

Just one bloke does that. I'd love to see this old think flying. Only 170 were ever built.

Ah yes, but the upkeep would be a killer. Truth be told the reason I don't seriously consider owning an aircraft is the annual inspection on most run about $1000 and that's for a fixed wing.

Yeah, that is a *want* item ;).

Here in the U.S if people couldn't restore it (FAT CHANCE, what a cool looking thing), someone might use it as a focal piece in a garden or something. It vaguely reminds me of the spacecraft in the Kooky Space Kook Episode of Scooby Doo. Where'd they *fit* crop dusting materials on it, anyway?:D

rather rare that, a poke around says 178 produced by the mid 60s
likely having an interesting tale to tell, happy it will be restored
thanks for posting
