Fellow resucer Robbie and one of the many orphans he and Helen have raised.
Robbie and Friend

Calamity the wallaroo joey
Wallaroo

Bruiser the eastern grey alpha male. He is surprisingly quiet for a male and enjoys a pat... as long as he knows you're not a male roo.
Bruiser

Orphaned eastern grey kangaroo. This is the sort of joey you want to scoop up in your arms and say "Oh aren't you kyAAAAGH! AAAAAGH! AAAAAGH!" and then you wake up in intensive care. Kangaroos aren't cuddly. They will radiate cutes at you and look sweet but they're LYING.
Eastern Grey joey

A bunch of orphaned eastern greys. A photograph of someone cuddling one of these could be labeled "Seconds From Disaster."
A bunch of orhaned Eastern Grey Kangaroos.

R & H can get so close to these roos because they raised them. Don't let yesterday's photo of Basil fool you. There is no way I'd hold a swamp wallaby.

Actually I meant those claws could give you one hell of a cutting up.

From my limited experience they aren't particularly keen on being touched, unlike most deer which stay put while you rub their ears and then lick your fingers clean. The lack of deer and the social distance of the macropods reduces the desirability of living in Oz. The drop bears don't help either.

So... macropods would kick the stuffing out of you. Do they bite too?

*watches them from a very safe distance*

Yeah, a friend of the family is a zoologist and she got attacked by a kangaroo one and got bits of her ear bit off.

But dang they are cute.

Well, my cat is freaking adorable too, but I've bled lots when I've antagonized her. Creatures with claws and teeth have them for a reason.

Heh, I'd still want to cuddle a roo, but perhaps I'll at least invest in a cup and an Umpire's outfit, maybe some leather arm armor as well. So worth it!
