I'm terribly sorry, Den. Loss of an animal companion hurts terribly, whether they choose to go on their own or not. But the memories and personality quirks are there forever. Either the Native Americans and/or the Aboriginals have a proverb of sorts that says no thing or being is forgotten until the last person who is existance that remembers them passes. And as long as we have memory that being has a place in our hearts.
