Date: 1 Sep 2007 01:26 (UTC)This was last Feb for me :P All the trees are sagging because they have 2 inches of ice on them. The night of the storm was eerie. You could go outside and listen to the rain coming down and the sound of trees breaking and falling down was constant. I also saw power lines severed before my eyes by tree limbs, sending up showers of purple and blue sparks. A girl a couple blocks from me was killed when a tree fell on her as she walked her dog:( Was one of the worst ice storms in memory for this area.
But is still had quite a beautiful side to it as well, especially when the sun hit the trees in morning or evening and this greeted me every morning for the next 5 days after the storm before it warmed up enough to melt the ice away. The shine is somewhat muted by the camera, to the eye it was dazzling.
