Cutty Sark is the last of the tea clippers, a type of boat that had a long narrow hull and was very fast and beautiful. She ran tea and spices from India to London at a time when tea was worth more per ounce than gold. Sometimes she ran wool and wheat from Australia to London; in fact she still holds the record for the fastest trip from Melbourne to London.

She was in permanent dry dock and undergoing restoration because she is the last relic of maritime history that we will never see again. Today arsonists set fire to her.

It looks like they can restore what was burned.

My other friend didn't report that. I certainly hope it's true. It would be a shame to completely lose the legacy.
