Post Road-Trip Dreams

Last night the white Mercedes ran me off the road a number of times, causing me to crash by smashing into trees, rocks, fences, rolling over, etc. until in the last dream I remembered it was a dream and steered at the Merc. and made it veer away. It left me alone after that.


Then at 4am I was bitten on the leg by a snake, which had me leaping from bed and turning on the light before I was awake. I was so fuddled I sat on the bed for fifteen minutes looking for the bite mark before waking enough to remember it was a dream.

At least my teeth didn't fall out.

I haven't had one of those teeth dreams myself in a long long time, hopefully never again either... I *HATE* those.

At least you had INTERESTING dreams. I dreamed that Sydney Carton (*) was quizzing me about how close replica US Civil War revolvers are to the originals. He wanted to substitute a replica for an original in a soldier's holster and it was important that nobody noticed the difference. And then there was some sort of commercial where my khaki work shirt got up and wrote "Men's Work Shirt" on my shopping list.


(fellow who secretly substituted himself for Charles Darnay in Dickens's _Tale of Two Cities,_ thus saving Darnay from the guillotine by going there himself. "It is a far, far better thing I do" etc etc etc.)

I HATE IT when my dreams have commercials.

I had a spider dream like that, today. I was chasing/being chased by a very large spider, and right before it reached me I woke up and sat straight up in bed. But my hand was still under the pillow and I felt something (a hair settling on my arm) and I jerked even farther away. Nothing ruins a day faster than waking up in a blind panic.
