Town water keeps it alive but it doesn't grow. I've mowed the lawn maybe 3 times this summer.

Cat Stevens should have written (pre-conversion):

" A simple garden with acres of sky
A spiny brown echidna if one dropped by"....

Snuffling through the leaves and grass, so early in the morning:D!

He doesn't seem too interested in rampaging through nature yet...but it'll come!

I took these a week before the Termite Attack. He's getting used to Nature but the dust makes him sneeze.

Foot = go home

I almost can't believe this used to be a chubby hairless puggle! He's so shiny.

Fully grown he'll weigh 2kg and will be incredibly strong. he's still less than half that, but still strong enough to almost dislocate fingers if they're in the way and he wants to get to the food.

That last pic cracks me up. He's just a spiky ball with a nozzle.

Is he totally tame? Or is he at all wary with humans?

It's hard to tell with echidnas; they just do their thing and seem to ignore everything else. It's like asking if sloths are tame.

He is sort of tame, in that he doesn't spike up and dig in when threatened with being picked up, but he is wary of dogs. Polly doesn't count since he grew up with her. I let him potter about the house (or yard when I'm outside) and he just... potters.
