Those stubby little legs don't look like they would be able to climb! Suppose thats all a good thing tho... need to be strong to break open those termite mounds.

Awww. I didn't know they could climb. That's like a hedgehog mixed with a monkey!... that lays eggs.... God your beasts are weird.

Got here from [livejournal.com profile] theweaselking.

Puggle love. Like others who commented, I had no idea the little guys could climb with such short legs.

Question.

I am not surprised at their climbing ability, hedgehogs are a similar shape and I've seen one of the local snufflers climb a six foot tall fence without seeming to notice it, but one thing I would like to know.

Hedgehogs can fall considerable distances without injury as their spines have built in "shock absorbers" and "springs" to cushion the impact. Do Echidna have a similar arrangement?

Wastebaskets everywhere tremble in fear!:D
GO FIPS!!
He looks like a stuffed toy in the first photograph. The kind small children would mistakenly *love* to squeeze.
Being able to climb also helps to ensure escape!

The waste basket contained his clean bedding, so it might have smelled like a new home to him.

Soft toy echidnas "With real spines!"

Hmms, any Fips fans local enough to you that trading a frosty one for a day's loan of a camera could be arraigned? :)
