Creeping towards 300g in weight.



Fips looks like a mini adult now, all spikey and black, but he still wobbles around like a puggle. He uses his front feet a lot more, pawing and scratching at his milk and my hands. It's cute but when he gets a bit stronger it will stop being cute and start being painful as he shreds skin and dislocates fingers. "Awww" will become "Oww!" But for now it's cute.

Around the Oww stage comes solid foods, followed by Termites 101, the Outside Cage and Getting Used To Weather, then release.

Good work Fips! Although it looks like he's good at pigging out, his "Total" slurpage is predominantly above the "Should Eat" line, but he is growing great. We need more photos ^_^

"Should Eat" is 15% of his pre-feeding body weight, which is the minimum for a healthy echidna. What he Does Eat shows he's a little guts. It's very easy to kill them by over-feeding them.

He has to weigh over 1kg, so he's 1/3ish of the way there. I still have to introduce him to solid foods.

It's so cute the way he hangs onto the sides of the dish and sticks his nose right in. Echidna sneezes are very cute.

He looks surprised, blows some milk bubbles, then gives a soft "Choo!" and milks sprays everywhere. It could be a baby whistle.

I have him trained to drink from a dish, so now feeding time is faster and a lot less messy. Soon I'll start adding solids into the mix.

Go to http://lavasoft.com/ download and install Ad-AwareSE Free. After you install it you may have to update the definitions. Then run a full scan. It's not an anti-virus but it will kill a lot of malware and trojans. I run this once a week.

I use AVG Free because I don't trust Nortons. Plus, it's free. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 Nortons slowed my system too much, and an up-to-date version still let my office pc get infected. Don't run AVG AND Nortons at the same time. They conflict.
