officially it's 38.5C, but that's at the airport. My outside thermometre says it's 40.5C now.

We're currently in drought conditions, but our relative humidity (since this is a seacoast town) is 94%, at 14C. (It's nearly midnight here.)

[livejournal.com profile] james_b told me how to translate metric weather.

"Zero is freezing. Ten is cool. Twenty is pleasant. Thirty is warm. Forty is hot."

I think that makes it "Ten" here.

That's a good scale. 38C=100F.

zero is "farking cold".
ten is "a bit nippy".
twenty is "pleasantly coolish".
twentyfive is "just about right, mate".
thirty is "gettin' a bit warmish".
thirtyfive is "a bit much".
forty is "too freakin' hot".
fortyfive is "kill me now, I beg you".

currently where I'm at it's 20 degrees. pleasantly coolish. humidity's at around 48%, which is fairly low for here.

/me is *not* a hot-weather person, I'm afraid.

My station reads 13:20hrs, 11.2 Celsius, 64% humidity, pressure 1018mb and steady after rising this morning.

That's rather warm for late November in Northern England.

When I was in Southern England last year the temperature never rose above 5.
