Weird. New York accents are really nothing like the Aussie ones, in my opinion. Granted more than other accents probably (except maybe Boston) but not remarkably similar. And I wasn't aware that Philadelphian accents are any different than Northeast accents, despite having spent quite a bit of time in both areas. Ah well, accents are so fascinating!
