Flying-foxes have a very canine face. The early Dutch explorers even called them flying-dogs.

the little bats are isectivores. Flying foxes mostly eat fruit, pollin and nectar. They don't need the nose structures because they don't echolocate, and they navigate mostly by sight and memory.
