Looks like Harriet has been "bothered" by Steve for about 19 years, that's longer then most pets live. They are going to miss her more then the rest of the world.

A old write-up on Harriet says she ovulates yearly yet had never been with her own species for 150 years. It also says she was mistaken for a male for a hundred years... hmm, how could you miss a hundred years of egg laying for an animal on display? I had a pigeon we thought was male until she layed an egg... I wonder if that is how they figured her gender or if they finally had tests to determine tortoise gender 75 years ago.
