Is there something wrong with me just because I had to google "Katamari Damacy" to understand what Boing Boing keeps talking about? Am I being left behind because I have zero knowledge (and interest) in all things PS2, Nintendo, XBox etc?

If there is, there is something wrong with me too. You can sit with me at the geek table. We can do something fun, really :) *snugs*

No -- you just need to develop a couple of acquaintances who play. I don't watch many movies, but I can still catch movie lines and even use them appropriately because I have so many friends who do.

To the contrary, you saved a bunch of money by having no interest in PS2, Nintendo, XBox, and so on. :)

This is my argument, too.

Nah, if you got caught up in vidgames who would render Bugs?

Hey, did you ever get anywhere with Truespace btw?

I ran out of time to learn truespace, and it worked in such a different way from Moray that I found it difficult to unlearn MORAY so I could use Truespace.

Anyways your Moray endeavours are definitely worth viewing :)

only a little.

I think it's the only video game I've bought in three years, besides a couple portable time-wasters for use to keep me from panicking during air travel. Working in the industry really sucked my will to care.

You googled WHAT?

(And that should answer you right there)

OK. I have a GameBoy Advance. A present. And two games for it, Advance Wars and the first sequel.

Um...that's it.

I also have a life. It's on a shelf somewhere and needs dusting, of course...

But don't feel alone down there. :P

I don't have any consols. You need more than 4 buttons to transfer orbit between ISS and MIR, or to defend Rome from the invading barbarian hoards, or to shoot down Messerschmidts.

The only console I've ever personally owned was a Game Boy, and that was 12 or more years ago. I have no interest at all in console gaming for myself, but I don't mind watching others waste their lives play. Amazing what you can pick up doing that - I know more about the Final Fantasy games than I really wanted to :)

Nah, there's nothing wrong. I may game, but I buy preplayed or used games 99.9% of the time. The amounts being charged for new games is has always been ridculosly over-inflated inflated, IMO. And there is no way I am dropping 600 clams for a game console, no matter how kick ass the new graphics can get and how much unused capabilty it will have that they tout:D. I had to wait two years for the price to come down on the one I have now.

I always wait for the new games to go "platinum," so I paye $20 instead of $89.

With my gamer friends, I usually have a rule. Don't talk to me about the boss on Level 12, or the time you rolled triple-12s to wipe out 982 zombies in one fireball spell, and I won't regale you with the fine details of World War I battlecruiser design.

(It's a bit frustrating being interested in battleship and battlecruiser design. You'd be amazed how seldom the subject comes up in everyday conversation.)

Interesting article. I wish I knew how to edit is because I have a little to add, plus maybe photos of puggles.

If you look, each section has a little [edit] box, usually to the lower right. And Wikipedia's help is pretty decent, in my experience.
