Jeremy Clarkson is a highly opionionated git who loves cars, and I love his writing style.

...but as he doesn't like motorcycles or kit cars (even the very good ones) at all, he doesn't rate highly in my book. Much prefer Richard Hammond (who also presents Braniac which is just an excellent show).
