Date: 27 Feb 2006 23:15 (UTC)Actually when this one does it'll go all grey, and the brown speckles will turn to "fine grey barring". At least according to the brilliant illustrations in The Sibley Guide To Birds, one of, if not the best illustrated guide(s) in the world. Browse one if you get a chance. I use my copy *lots*.
