Currently uploading all my photos. My apologies to [livejournal.com profile] james_b for abusing his web server.

That's the good kind of web server abuse. It's the stuff the script kiddies try that is bad.

Do you want that account modified to allow directory browsing, or are you planning to create an index file of some description.

Just out of curiosity, was the Fuji camera's internal clock set to any particular time zone?

Directory browsing would be nice. I intend to create a webpage with descriptions but I don't know when that will happen.

The films were processed at a local Fujichrome place. I don't know what their clocks are set to. Why?

OK, directory browsing is enabled.

As for the clocks, I was just trying to make sense of the date/time tags in the EXIF data.

That might be PSP9's doing.

Those photos could probably take a fair bit more jpg compression for web viewing. I'm guessing that most of them could be reduced by a factor of 10 without much harm.

I'm burning these to cds for playing through dvd players. Aaron's Aunties want them. I'll be doing a compression run and re-upload when that's finished.

I'm creating a PhotoShop web gallery for them at the moment.

Have a look:

http://www.battyden.net/pictures/Photos/europe2005web/

I can easily switch it over to the original europe2005 directory (without disturbing the original shots).

Excellent! Yeah, do that!

Is there any way to let me edit a description under the photo?

Copying now. I'll delete the europe2005web directory when I've finished.

The files are just standard HTML, so editing is as easy as editing any other web page.

The easiest way to do it is to use something like Irfanview to edit the "Caption" data in the ITPC area of the JPG files.

The PhotoShop gallery creation pages can use the filename and/or the caption as the picture description under the thumbnail images, and will insert the ITPC caption under the full size images.

It's easy to just edit the file in winSCP and save. It's only a couple of lines and a line break.

OK, I'll recompile the Directory. Is that Bedford too.

Before I do that, do you want any other changes ... something other than 5x10, bigger thumbnails, etc?

Thep, that's Bedford too. No other changes required.
