You are the only person I know who has seriously been there. How in the world did you get to such a location? And boring, like Iowa. I've been to Iowa. You're right. I'll skip Iceland.

Oh, yes. My relatives in Minnesota used to talk about the Northern Lights. Too bad it didn't turn out well. Might have been beautiful. And your travelogue was a scream. I especially appreciated the bit about Nevada -- I grew up there. My parents loved it, and so did I back then, because we used to hunt and fish out where you wouldn't run into anyone for days (which was actually a problem in your case *grins*). And the middle part where you were is really just a long stretch of nothing, except a truck stop or two and lots of sagebrush. And yes, even the mini marts have slot machines. Rather amusing now that I look back after transferring many years ago to Sacramento CA. You would never get me to move back there now!!

Yes, isn't it funny how some of us do find "roots" somewhere, whatever it is that keeps drawing us back there. I have a cousin who grew up in Nevada like I did, and his home base is in New York. What a culture difference!! But he just loves it there. More power to him. His mother isn't so hip on the idea, but then she still lives in Nevada *grins*

Now that's funny -- "roo-scrotum pouches" *grins* Got a good laugh out of that one. I would love to visit New York one day. I have the means. I would just need a someone to show me around. Wouldn't feel safe any other way. To a girl who grew up in Nevada, surely New York would be a kind of adult Disneyland. And I can't think of a more appropriate place for the capital of Planet Earth. I doubt anyone could find a place that has the diversity, culture, and showmanship than is found there.

A dice pouch. That's a possibility. Might try to market them to the casinos in Nevada as a souvenir! *shakes her head* And who knows what the original settlers were doing. Maybe Dewhitton knows something about that. Once you think you've heard it all . . .

Oh my, Den. I forgot all these comments were under your LJ. Now I am laughing again. So this is the real thing? You aren't just kidding the Lady again, are you? If you aren't kidding, then what in the world is the purpose for a roo-scotrum? (*grins* not trying to be grotesque or anything)

They are a real, fair dinkum product of Australia. The actual purpose is to provide something novel to sell to tourists. I'm sure the kangaroos have a better purpose for them.
