"Victorian" refers to a group of people of which I know nothing. I'm assuming they don't mean who live in and near Melbourne.

Victorian Era I understand. I thought it was referring to a current group of people. Australian slang is rooted in the language of the people sent here during the early to mid 19th century, so it makes sense that I understood a lot of it.
