Today I picked up a male eastern grey joey. He weighed 1kg. ONE Kilogram! Tiny little kangaroo with floppy ears and a thin film of fur and big gangly feet. His mum was hit and killed by a car but he got through it unscathed, although he is pretty frightened. I took him straight out to the carer's place, and she stuffed him into a warm pouch made of old jumpers with the necks sewn shut. She'll try feeding him later when the shock of being transported wears off.
I got to see Jeremy for the first time since I rescued him. The frightened little roo I picked up last year now weighs 60kg and is almost ready to release. Which is nice.

Have the best
