My cousin Steve loves his Subaru Liberty B4 Twin Turbo.

He used to race it at various tracks around Sydney, Eastern Creek, Oran Park, and so on. Despite the fact that it goes from 0 to 160 in AAAAAGH SHIIIIIIIIIT LEMME OUT! it just wasn't fast enough. His times always appeared as the first name after the WRXs. He didn't like that much. A few weeks ago he pushed it a little hard, the tyres were a bit cold, and suddenly he was doing some sideways gardening and heading for a tyre wall. He missed everything, luckily, but it made him realise the Liberty B4 was a) a little too heavy, and b) too nice to bend. ([livejournal.com profile] makovette Notice the lack of Rice!)

He needed something to monster the V8s. So he bought this:

Escort with a Cortina motor. 2 litres, 4 cylinders of V8 Monstering. The little 'scorty out-accellerates, out-brakes, and out-corners almost everything.

Steve likes his Escort.

I'll admit I don't know much about cars, but I had two Escorts, and I'll assume that they're pretty much the same over there as they were over here (and over in Europe; when I was in Sweden, everyone who wasn't driving a Volvo or a Saab seemed to be driving an Escort). And putting a V8 in one?

Yikes!

I'm sure that thing moves! The brakes and steering have to be hopped-up, though.

There's not enough room for a V8, but there is enogh to drop out the 1500CC motor and stick in a 2000CC job from a Cortina. This thing is fully kitted out: roll cage, 5-point harness, and no interior to speak of.

Ah, rereading your original post, I see what I missed. I fixated on the "V8 monstering" and passed over the "4 cylinders". ;)
