Female bearded dragon.

She was found in a distressed state in one of the parks.

I took her to the Zoovets, and that's when we discovered she was full of eggs. An x-ray showed 6 so the vets set up a warm box for her. She laid 14 eggs but they were all dead. She stayed in care for a few days and was released into the zoo grounds.

Shame about the eggs, but at least she was OK.

We get dragons down near my old place - or are they monitors? Here (http://www.geocities.com/cutondogor/areapics/monitor.jpg) is one sunning itself one fine day.

That's an eastern water dragon; a related species.

There are two groups of dragons: bearded dragons and water dragons. I don't know why they're dragons and not just lizards. It's just that species name.

There is a certain quality about the head that is similar to western-imagined dragons, to my eye, anyway, which might mean that whoever named them had an eye similar to mine...
