I saw Diary Of A Wombat in the bookshop today, and almost bought it for someone, but it's aimed at the very young. On the other hand it's funny. The start is slow

"Monday:
Morning- slept
Afternoon-slept
Evening-ate some grass
night-slept

Tuesday
Morning- slept
Afternoon-slept, scratched hard to reach itchy places.
Evening-ate some grass
night-slept"

...but then comes the encounters with her human neighbours. I feel like I should own a copy for myself. Time to have an early mid-life crisis, I think.

I kind of want to get this for the SO now (he's 25), but at that point I'll have devolved into a wombat theme for presents, and I consider having consistent themed presents the personally offensive part of this plan, rather than the bit about buying children's books for fully-grown men. But that's just me. I still have Shel Silverstein books.

I just got a copy for someone myself. I've know about it for months. My mother found a copy somewhere. My favorite bits: The Major Battle with The Flat Hairy Creature, and all the parts about carrots:D.

THe flat hairy creature was funny. A friend who raised a wombat lost many flat hairy creatures to the young one.
