or stress, internal injury. Animals and birds here in Australia are highly suseptible to toxoplasmosis, so they can die of a cat attack even is the cat only scratches them. If the cat draws blood then the critter will usually die. We're still looking at drugs to use that won't also kill off the gut flora.
