Because I live in such a remote area, I am eligable for a government subsidy that will get me a satellite broadband link. 512k downlink from orbit, 256 uplink via ISDN. Installation is normally $700, but with the subsidy it's $129.

You should be eligable if they decide you can't get ADSL. Those of us in the wilds of East Dubbo are eligable.

I don't know if I'll be able to get it or not after the trial. 500MB of data per month is really tight though.

500MB is about what I pick up a month. I don't go birko downloading stuff.
