I wonder if there's any point at which humans will realize this is so stupid.

...Wow. I'm not sure what else to say, other than that Australia should keep a watch out in case they're going to strike a target right in Australia.

I just so much want to sink some claws and fangs into these people (terrorist in general that is). It's a sad comment on our modern technology, it allows so few to do such great harm to so many. I think the big pay back for them will really be when they stand before God and hear,
"You did what in my name?".

I know it doesn't help us here but it's a little comfort I guess.

There are days when I swear I don't wanna think.

Ok, it was Russia last week, now it's Jakarta this week. Is it all co-incedence, or do they $#%&^% inspire each other? Where's the sense in all this? There isn't any. What's the point? The world is a violent place? DUH! (Not always,I know, but sometimes it is). And will being militant about security and arresting and possibly executing those responsible stop it from happening for good? Probably not. I'd like to think otherwise but I don't think so. The thought bothers me..I find it interesting that just because the Chechyns are muslim and there were people of arab extraction in the group that destroyed the school, people are were too quick to scream Al Qaeda.

It is almost pointless in the face of a lynch mob to say "I had no idea we were to kill women and children, I swear to Allah I did not shoot; I have children too." Part of me wants to believe deep down that people can be human even in the worst of situations. The problem is it will be seen as an attempt to save oneself by any means possible and not the other way. This is the Third World War. And how we can condemn terrorist while ignoring the fact that the Ku Klux Klan and American Nazi Party still exist on American soil boggles my mind.

Okay, rant off:D. Fire away!

People may be, as you say, quick to scream Al Qaeda when Muslims do their thing---but the fact remains (although it's often not politically correct to rub the social/political elitists' noses in it) that Muslims perpetrate most of the world's terrorist acts, and most Muslims doing these savage acts are Arabic men. The Muslim apologists go to great lengths to point the bloody finger of guilt in any direction other than themselves, but ultimately the face of evil prays to a diety known as Allah.

Yes there are apologists. What the hell is wrong with that? Assuming all Muslims or Arabs are evil just because they pray to whatever they pray to is as bad as saying all Americans support Dubya and pray to Jesus Christ every night that all non-christians will be destroyed.:D

There's a reason that most of the active terrorists outside the USA are Muslims. There is one specific sect of Islam which seems to have interpreted their holy book's instructions regarding "infidels" somewhat liberally... about as liberally as certain Christian sects here interpret the Bible.

There is nothing more dangerous, in the long term, than a religious meme which includes an injunction to convert or otherwise eliminate "unbelievers". If Pat Robertson and his gang were in power, we'd be doing very much the same thing... or rather, he would be doing it in our names, and people would be saying that the face of evil prayed to a deity named Jehovah.

Perhaps, but I like to think that we wouldn't stoop to that level. One major thing that separates us from the Muslim world is, America is not made up of ONE religion. We have all beliefs, including those who harbor NO religious beliefs. Pat Robertson and his flaming ilk are NOT in power for the simple reason that there are far more "level-headed" (sorry, L-H!) people here who won't STAND for such a radical to weild the reins of power. We KNOW the whacko agenda his kind would persue; an agenda that would make us no better than the barbaric Muslims.

Sure, Christians (and others) have, throughout history, staged their own pogroms and "Crusades" against the "godless". That was then; this is now. The Muslims have waged religious war against everybody else since the beginning, and it's high time they're stopped. We don't need a religious nut in power to do it; we just need someone with the backbone to totally crush their radical factions---and make sure they STAY crushed.
