In the letterbox this morning was a note from the parcel delivery contractor, letting me know I had a parcel waiting for me at the Orana Mall Post Office. The contractor couldn't deliver it because, according to the tick in the box, there was no one home. This was interesting since the card was already in the box when I went to meet the postman when he dropped my letters off. I'd been up since 8am struggling with conditional probability maths for the first assignment and the dogs hadn't barked at all.

Anyway. I picked up the parcel. I am now the proud owner of Macromedia Studio MX 2004.

I mailed off a job application today, too. More on this later.

I've just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind

(chorus)
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies

Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget today's pain

(chorus)

Though the dawn may be coming soon
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side

Dreamweaver is pretty easy to figure out. I do all my webby goodness with it. It makes ungodly great tables. Mmm tables. No laying them out by hand!

Fireworks is by far my favorite thusfar of the goodies in MX. It's layering beats the snot out of Photoshop so far as I'm concerned. It might not be as powerful as Photoshop for raw drawing or whizbangy effects (ie, filters) but if you're trying to combine together multiple objects, beats Photoshops tush anyday. It also has a fabulous set up for animating GIFs.

Haven't used TrueSpace at all.

Nothing, really. I needed the web authoring tools mostly. Flash was a bonus.

Wow. You must be rich. I can't even begin to think about affording Studio MX.

I went to http://www.educationsoftware.com.au/ and registered as a student, since I am, and bought it for AU$274.80 (+tax)

It was that or a naughty copy.
